Another 60 are due to be launched next week.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heavens-above.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Heaven-Above<\/strong><\/a> Web site shows me that there is a visibility of the latest cluster of satellites visible tonight.<\/p>\n<p>The first satellite starts passing across the UK sky just after 4:30pm.<br \/>\nIt appears just north of Saturn, passes north of The crescent Moon, into Aquarius, Pisces and towards Cetus and Taurus.<br \/>\nIts magnitude is calculated at +3.9. But it would be a good idea to observe exactly how bright it actually appears and if it flares at any point as it catches the Sun.<br \/>\nAt this point it disappears into The Earth&#8217;s shadow a short time before it sets.<br \/>\nThe map of this pass from Heavens-above is shown below (Click on the image for a bigger view):<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.star-gazing.co.uk\/WebPage\/wp-content\/uploads\/StarlinkTrail-1-20191229.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3627\" src=\"https:\/\/www.star-gazing.co.uk\/WebPage\/wp-content\/uploads\/StarlinkTrail-1-20191229.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"202\" height=\"202\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.star-gazing.co.uk\/WebPage\/wp-content\/uploads\/StarlinkTrail-1-20191229.jpg 736w, https:\/\/www.star-gazing.co.uk\/WebPage\/wp-content\/uploads\/StarlinkTrail-1-20191229-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.star-gazing.co.uk\/WebPage\/wp-content\/uploads\/StarlinkTrail-1-20191229-100x100.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.star-gazing.co.uk\/WebPage\/wp-content\/uploads\/StarlinkTrail-1-20191229-600x599.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.star-gazing.co.uk\/WebPage\/wp-content\/uploads\/StarlinkTrail-1-20191229-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.star-gazing.co.uk\/WebPage\/wp-content\/uploads\/StarlinkTrail-1-20191229-210x210.jpg 210w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 202px) 100vw, 202px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But that&#8217;s not all.<br \/>\nOnce this satellite passes across there will be an ongoing procession of Starlink satellites, each separated by only a few minutes.<br \/>\nThis stream of satellites will last until 20:11 UT.<\/p>\n<p>The height above the southern horizon of the Starlink satellite track will gradually increase as the evening progresses, each satellite following the previous one at a very slightly higher altitude.<\/p>\n<p>By the time satellite 1046 passes over at 18:20, this satellite will be 83 degrees high, passing north of Pegasus and Andromeda. It will fade quicker into The Earth&#8217;s shadow as it enters Perseus.
