{"id":1,"date":"2017-02-04T16:06:34","date_gmt":"2017-02-04T16:06:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.star-gazing.co.uk\/WebPage\/?p=1"},"modified":"2017-03-12T17:29:50","modified_gmt":"2017-03-12T17:29:50","slug":"comets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.star-gazing.co.uk\/WebPage\/comets\/","title":{"rendered":"Comets to finish Doris&#8217; Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a day of storm Doris battering the country, it cleared to a reasonable evening.<br \/>\nI got out ready for Comet 5P Encke, but by the time the clouds cleared, it was far too low in the western sky.<\/p>\n<p>Once properly clear, I slewed the scope over to capture P45\u00a0Honda-Mrkos-Pajdu\u00e1kov\u00e1.<br \/>\nIt was in the constellation of Coma Berenices and heading towards Leo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-6072\" src=\"http:\/\/www.eagleseye.me.uk\/Sky\/Wordpress\/Blog_Images\/2017\/02\/Comet45PDenoise.jpg\" alt=\"Comet45PDenoise\" width=\"563\" height=\"383\" \/>It is huge! I had to use my 80mm refractor to get most of it in.<\/p>\n<p>I then went across to Comet C\/2015 V2 \u00a0Johnson.<\/p>\n<p>This is a much smaller compact comet, with a slightly curved tail.
