Workshops

My hands-on astronomy workshops have so far been extremely popular, as well as very rewarding to do. The feedback I have had has been extremely encouraging, helping people to develop their astrophotography skills.

With a lot of theory packed in all the workshops have a lot of hands-on content which aids the learning process and makes for an enjoyable day.
All workshops are limited to 15 delegates so that I have as much time as needed to help everyone who attends.

All Workshops cost £30:00 for a whole day.

Space is limited to 15 delegates so I can give as much attention as possible to each person.

PHOTOSHOP ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY  IMAGE PROCESSING
29th September 2018

HIGHAM FERRERS HOPE METHODIST CHURCH, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE
Astrophotography is often seen as a dark art, especially to the beginner.
This hands-on workshop takes you through the theory behind astrophotography, and subsequent processing of your images.
We will look at the tools used to get the most out of your images, curves, levels, saturation, layer masking and unsharp masking.
We will also look at some of the plug-ins that I consider essential to get the best results.
Note: You must have a laptop with a full copy of Photoshop installed to use on the day.
Photoshop Essentials version does not have the tools required.
The day will mainly consist of hands-on processing of pre-stacked images.
I will supply many, but the workshop is even more rewarding if you can bring in your own images to works on.

Cost is £30 for a full day of tuition and hands-on practice.

Space is limited to 15 delegates so I can give as much attention as possible to each person.

ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY AND WEBCAM IMAGING

CHELVESTON VILLAGE HALL, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE
A repeat of my very successful first workshop.
This gives a general overview of the theory of astrophotography.

This includes producing startrails, stacking in Deep Sky Stacker and some simple, but effective image processing skills using levels and curves to tweak out faint details.
We will also look at lunar and webcam imaging.
This will include the theory and practise of taking images, and the software used to process them.
There will be plenty of time for lots of hands-on practice on images, either using images I will supply, or more preferably, your own.
All software, where free, will be supplied on the day.
Please note: All software runs on a Windows PC, so will not run on an Apple.

Cost is £30 for a full day of tuition and hands-on practice.

Space is limited to 15 delegates so I can give as much attention as possible to each person.
